This week the Government launched a new campaign to tackle the growing threat of online child sexual abuse. With the IWF (Internet Watch Foundation) having reported a three-fold increase in incidents of online sexual abuse targeting 7 – 10 years in 2021 the Let’s Stop Abuse Together is campaign is timely.
Aimed at parents and carers as well as professionals and survivors, the website provides advice and support on keeping safe online. The parent/carer section is packed with advice and guidance on spotting signs of abuse, a very useful guide to talking to children about online sexual abuse and signposting to sources of help and support.
Please help StopAbuseTogether by flagging up the campaign and website to parents and carers via your usual school communications.
