The Challenge
Kings Oak Primary school is the largest primary school in Bedfordshire with over 900 pupils and 152 staff. Broadband and filtering were previously provided via the Local Authority. But the school wanted an easier way to manage the filtering and firewall. They decided to contract directly with E2BN Internet4schools. And got great technical support, great broadband speed and saved money too!
Max O’Driscoll is Network Manager at Kings Oak Primary School, Bedford. We asked him to tell us about his experience of moving to E2BN Internet4schools broadband and filtering.
Initial set up and installation process:
“A solid and informative set up and install, furthermore, email queries were answered quickly by humans.”
Quality, speed, reliability, ease of use:
“Speed as advertised so it works as advertised, excellent. Makes a change to get what you pay for without hoop jumping. Your service is a decent boost to us from previous.
We previously used Protex via our Local Authority. So it’s great having the same filtering. And now we can access a web interface to make filtering additions/ exceptions. What a bonus! The web interface makes it so much quicker and easier than the previous form filling system.
Under our old contract, several services (scheduled server to G:drive backups for instance) were awkward to manage. These services are now run as part of your less restrictive firewall. Marvellous!”
Value for money:
“We have already saved £1,500 this first year. We expect to save £3,500 pa in year two and three of the contract.”
Technical Support:
“The technical support has been great. Martin and Simon have been excellent; both are professional ‘hand-holders’ and provide good, rapid response to queries.
Internet4schools works and so makes my life easier and less stressful. That’s all the customer support I need!”
